Viewpoint on Perception v Reality
I think that there is truly no way to tell what is perception and what is reality. For example, the only way I could try and justify that I am not dreaming right now and that I am in fact typing this paragraph, is that I can feel my hands touching the keyboard and I am actually thinking about what I am typing. This, however, may not be enough to convince some people because they may argue that I can do and feel the same in a dream. I think this is one of the hardest things to wrap one's mind around because it is so hard to justify how you know something is real versus fake.
Explanation of Free Will, Soft Determinism and Hard Determinism
Free Will: This viewpoint believes that you have absolutely no destiny and you control your fate 100%.
Soft Determinism: This idea explains that you have a predetermined fate, but you have a choice whether to follow it or not.
Hard Determinism: This theory states that you already have a predetermined fate and you don't have a choice to follow it or not because it is your destiny.
I would subscribe to Hard Determinism because I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. I think that people can think that they chose what they do in life, but ultimately what they do was supposed to happen and actually don't have a choice at all.
