Explanation of Empiricism v Rationalism
Empiricism: All of our knowledge of the world comes to us from our experiences and must be justified by appealing to those experiences.
Rationalism: Knowledge of the world can be justified without appealing to experiences.
Rationalism: Knowledge of the world can be justified without appealing to experiences.
Empiricism, Rationalism and Skepticism debate (which one I agree with)
I think that I would agree with all three of these ideas. I think that like empiricism, you have to experience things in order to truly understand them. I also think that you can understand and know things without experiencing them first hand, but instead learning about them through other people's experiences. I can also understand the skepticism viewpoint because sort of like the perception vs reality debate, it's so to know anything. How do we know what's real and what isn't? It's just a tough question to answer.
